Plotting my driving path to Montana. I'm gonna try to get to Jackpot, NV by the end of day one. Google maps indicates 653 miles and 9 hrs 15 mins. That means, if (and that's a big IF folks) I get out of the house and on the road by 6:30 a.m. I could be in Jackpot by 4:00 p.m. assuming no stops, which is not possible. So, if we count some stops and picture-taking-opportunities, I could be in Jackpot in time for a 6:30 dinner and some gambling before settling down for the night. Maybe a little craps?
So, my plan of action...
Leave house 6:30 a.m.
Stop at Starbucks, on road again by 6:50 a.m.
Bay Bridge ETA 7:10 a.m.
Sacramento ETA 8:40 a.m.
Reno ETA 11:00 a.m. (unless I have to take a bathroom break, I should be able to get straight to Reno without stopping, though I might hit a Starbucks as I head over Donner Pass - worse case I don't hit Reno till noon).
From Reno to Jackpot is still nearly 6 hours (406 miles), so much will depend on whether or not I stop anywhere to take pictures or something... of course, I have no clue what's between Reno and Jackpot or what 80 will be like along there other than brown landscapes and casinos?
